STEPHEN M. "STEVE" DEARING, 72, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at Visiting Nurse in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne, Ind., Steve was the son of the late Ralph and Patricia Dearing. Stephen worked for the Fort Wayne City, Fire and Dispatch for 20 years before moving on to his second career. He founded D&D Associates which he owned and operated for over 20 years before retiring in 2013. Steve was a NASCAR fan and loved playing cards with his cousin John every week. He looked forward to his occasional trips to Hoosier Park and enjoyed his backyard garden every summer. Surviving are his wife, Christine "Tina" Dearing of Fort Wayne; daughter, Kris Dearing of Fort Wayne; step-daughter, Jen (Andrew) McKeever of Fort Wayne; and his best pet friend Donnie Dearing. Stephen was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ronald Dearing. Memorial Service is 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 22, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Deacon Rob Seewald officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at the funeral home.
