RICHARD DEAN "DINK" SOWERS, 79, passed away Saturday morning, June 14, 2008. He was a Marine Corp veteran, spending a year and a half in Guam. He was a Fort Wayne fire fighter for 28 years, retiring in 1986 as Assistant Chief. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Betty; daughters, Joyce and Sandra K. McKinnis of Eagle River, Alaska.; his granddaughter, Kim Fox; his son, Mike (Beth) Sowers; and his beloved beagle, Dutch. Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
