Roldofo "Rudy" Mendoza Renteria, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2022. Born July 7, 1952, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Maria and Dionicio Renteria. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Rudy graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1970 and then served four years in the United States Navy, as well as in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Navy, Rudy joined the Fort Wayne Fire Department. He served 18 years and retired as a Fire Captain.

Rudy is survived by his sons, Jesse (Deborah) Renteria of Fort Wayne and Jason (Nicole) Renteria of Virginia Beach, Va.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Ricardo "Rick" Renteria of Fort Wayne and Reynaldo "Rey" Renteria of Beech Island, S.C.; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his uncle, Teodoro Mendoza and aunt, Alicia Perez.
