Terry Paul Flaugh, 89, of Fremont, Indiana passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025. He was born on September 6, 1936, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son of the late Robert H. and Ruby E. (Stirlin) Flaugh. Terry graduated from North Side High School in 1955. In 1958, he married Carlene Hanson. He served in the United States Army Reserve, and he was honored to be selected for the NE Indiana Honor Flight #42 to Washington, D.C. Terry joined the Fort Wayne Fire Department in 1965. He retired from the FWFD as Captain in 1987. He was a member of the FWFD 20 Year Club. After retiring, he operated Flaugh Motors.
Terry’s hobbies included snowmobiles, cars, boats, and airplanes. He loved spending time with family and friends at Lake George, in Venice, Florida and Canada. He earned his Private Pilot’s License, and he and his wife spent much time at Smith Field. They were members of the 70 Knotters Flying Club. A special honor for Terry was being initiated into the QB’s (Quiet Birdmen). Terry enjoyed watching IU basketball, the Colts, and the Indiana Fever.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of sixty-seven years, Carlene (Hanson) Flaugh; daughters, Pamela (Don) Shook and Lisa (Todd) Guthrie; grandchildren, Jennifer (Travis) Overmyer, Kaicy (Josh) Barnett, Brad (Megan) Shook, Kristen (Luke) Norris and Spencer Shook; seven great-grandchildren; and brother Ron Flaugh.
